Dear Christian Brother or Sister
One of the brotherhood's best kept secrets is the non-profit charitable organization, The White Rock Fund. This Fund provides financial assistance to elderships of Churches of Christ for faithful teachers and preachers around the world. There are two primary reasons why The White Rock Fund exists:
First, the Great Commission is important. Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all nations." The White Rock Fund is a group of Christian individuals, working together to help elders of many congregations take the gospel to every nation.
Second, we are concerned about the spiritual drift sweeping through Churches of Christ. Some teachers, preachers and elders who once stood firm in the truth no longer do so. Even after our deaths these resources will be used to support faithful teachers, and never fall into the hands of those who want to change the gospel message. Every legal provision has been made to protect the resources of The White Rock Fund so they are always used to teach the truth and never used to teach error. There is much more legal protection for these assets than most congregations have in place to protect their church properties from being taken over by those who no longer teach the truth of God's word.
Individual Christians are invited to contribute to The White Rock Fund (contributions are not solicited from churches). These contributions are prudently invested. At the end of each calendar year the Trustees set aside 12.5% of the total value of the Fund as grants to be given to elders in Churches of Christ for mission work around the world. The Fund does not replace the local church, but complements its goals.
The Trustees feel a sense of responsibility to see that grants are provided to those who faithfully teach the gospel. Each recipient of the Fund's resources must affirm his commitment to fundaments of the Faith as stated in the Articles of Incorporation under the heading, "The Church of Christ."
